About Family Law Library
Family Law Library is a free library that explains Texas CPS (DFPS) law and process in plain English, for parents and families. It starts with Parker County (Weatherford, Azle, Springtown, Aledo, Willow Park and Hudson Oaks) and covers law that applies across Texas.
How we verify
- Statutes, DFPS policy and agency pages are fetched from official sources and stored with the date they were fetched.
- Every legal statement on a guide is tied to a specific source and a verbatim quote. Our build checks that each quote appears word for word in the source, and refuses to publish a page that fails.
- Quoted law is shown exactly as written, with a link to the official text.
- Pages are not yet reviewed by an attorney. We are working toward attorney review.
What this site is not
It is not legal advice and not a law firm. It is not affiliated with DFPS or any court. If you have a court date or a case, talk to a Texas attorney. Parents in some CPS court cases have a right to a court-appointed attorney; see Your right to an attorney.
